Said El Mansour Cherkaoui – 9/9/2020

European Commission ·

We will further step up to tackle rising energy prices.

In two days, we will present a roadmap at the European leaders’ meeting in Prague that includes:

⛽ A price cap on gas properly designed to ensure the security of supplies.

🤝Negotiations with trusted partners to dampen the price we pay for gas imports

🇪🇺 A strengthened Common Energy Platform to secure our energy supplies at a reasonable price

We can manage this energy crisis as Europeans, together and jointly.

How large is the global energy market?

The global energy as a service (EaaS) market size was valued at USD 64.34 billion in 2021. The market is projected to grow from USD 70.46 billion in 2022 to USD 147.56 billion by 2029, exhibiting a CAGR of 11.1% during the forecast period.

During these days, energy in all its forms of production and transformations is becoming the reason to be a friend or to be a foe.

Energy is seen and considered as power and power not just to have but to control with others who have it or who do not have it. As an overall share of energy consumption, oil remained on top with 33% of all energy consumption. The remainder of global energy consumption came from coal (27%), natural gas (24%), hydropower (6%), renewables (5%), and nuclear power (4%).Jun 20, 2020

Energy is becoming a double edge sword cutting new ties of rapprochement like cutting ties of remoteness.

Any country who is not willing or seeking to invest in the various sectors of energy will only be at the mercy of the variations of the energy market and will be vulnerable to any manipulations of the relations existing around and inside of the international market of energy.

The countries who consider the energy as a National Strategic Interest have build around such sensitive arena an areas of institutions, structures and militaristic presence that are operationnel and administrative of all the aspects of the energy policies prioritized as the source of national independence and as modules of supply and transfer of high value inputs to the drive of the national economy toward a chosen level of growth and development.

Within such frame of international relations, we have witnessed for more than a century the race against the clock to control the sources of energy by the Western based petrol multinationals with the support of their respective governments
